Which countries need a visa for Egypt?

Foreigners arranging their trips to Egypt should be mindful of having a valid visa. Egypt generally requires visas for most foreign visitors, with some exceptions. Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, European Union member states, Australia, and New Zealand, typically need a visa to enter Egypt. 

It is advisable to check your visa requirements for Egypt in advance of your trip to check whether you need a visa and what you need to prepare for the visa application process. Unlike the regular visa, the Egypt e-visa system was first introduced in 2017 to simplify the process of obtaining a visa. Travelers can complete applications online in a matter of minutes and receive their visas in a maximum of three business days. Until now, citizens of more than 70 countries are eligible to apply for this type of visa. 

In contrast, citizens of other countries that are not available for e-visa eligibility or visa exemption are required to complete the visa applications at the nearest embassy or consulate.
