Egypt stated that the government will continue to extend the 96-hour transit visa scheme until the cessation of April 2026. The government has put more effort into reviving tourism and drawing more people who come to Egypt only to pass through the airports as part of this decision. The initiative was firstly designed so that Egypt could become an easier and more approachable place for foreign tourists, and the transit visa program with free access for those passengers who are waiting in Egypt for not more than 96 hours, or four days is confirmed. Planned for a shorter time originally, the prolongation of this program is a bright example of how tourism revival is Egypt's priority and its cultural heritage is the best monitor for this.
