What type of visa is required for South Koreans visiting Egypt?
South Korean citizens do require a visa to visit Egypt. They can apply for an electronic visa (e-visa) online, which is the fastest and easiest way to obtain a visa. The e-visa is valid for a single entry into Egypt and allows for a stay of up to 30 days. There is also a multi-entry e-visa option, which allows for multiple stays of up to 30 days within a period of six months.
To apply for an Egyptian e-visa, South Korean citizens will need to provide the following:
- A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining
- A digital scan of the passport page
- A current email address
- A credit or debit card to pay the visa fee
South Korean citizens who are only transiting through Egypt and do not plan to leave the airport do not need a visa. However, if they wish to leave the airport, they will need to apply for a transit visa. Transit visas are valid for a maximum of 48 hours.
