How to travel around Egypt?

Traveling around Egypt offers a variety of transportation options to suit different preferences and budgets. 

Flights

Domestic flights are the fastest way to travel between major cities in Egypt. EgyptAir and Nile Air offer affordable domestic flights, especially when booked in advance. Popular routes include:

  • Cairo to Luxor: ~1 hour flight 
  • Cairo to Aswan: ~1.5 hours 
  • Cairo to Hurghada: ~1 hour 

Booking flights online with your location set to Egypt can yield lower prices in local currency compared to booking from outside the country.

Trains

Egypt has an extensive train network connecting Cairo with Luxor, Aswan, and Alexandria. Options include:
